A DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone has captured what is believed to be rock paintings around 7,000 years old. The cave art, discovered in the Alicante province along the coast of Spain, has managed to remain hidden till now because the mountainous region is extremely difficult to access on foot.

Most people know the desert carvings in Peru, that resemble animals such as a hummingbird, a pelican, a monkey and a lizard as the ‘Nasca Lines‘. They were first discovered by Peruvian archaeologist Toribio Mejía Xesspe in 1927 and have since become a famous tourist attraction. Now, with the help of drones, some 50 more geoglyphs have been discovered some of which are 2,500 years old.
Drone technology aids in the discovery of a mysterious ancient structure at a military training ground in Israel. Archaeologists used a camera-equipped drone to locate a 2,200-year-old structure in the heart of an Israeli military training area. The structure, which could be a temple or a palace from the ancient Idumean culture, dating back to the Hellenistic period, when Greek influences were strong in the region, has been excavated by a team of experts from the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
